  1. I really don't understand why people carry on about what a pen looks like or whether paint flakes on a disposable pen. Or any pen for that matter. What matters is the nib and the ink. Does it preform as it should. Is it smooth. Is there enough ink to use for a day or two. Who cares if some grey blue flakes off. Ppl are just snobs for no reason. One of the best fountain pens ever made was the pilot metropolitan. If they sold it for $1000 ppl would think it the best ever. If these own people had penmanship equal to their pen they might have a leg to stand on.

  2. I tried the BIC pen before and I tell you it's awsome ,,, it writes better than most of brand fountain pens out there

  3. I prefer the Bic disposable to Pilot Varsity. Writes much smoother and a little less wet.

  4. Interesting. I haven't tried one of these yet, but I am always looking for a cheap pen to give to people.

  5. I think what I like most is the sort of purply blue ink that comes in the pen. The Pilot is a much darker blue-black, but I quite like the lighter blue.

  6. I have one of the bic models that accepts cartridges, i forget the model, it writes ok but its just part of my collection , i used the Pilot Vpen disposable as a spare carry and they never ever dont write . i've got one in the car that's been there unused for months yet it writes first time without issue. I'm not sure if the Vpen is the same as the varsity or perhap just the european version
    Thanks Chris
